Two times terrified We got a new bit of news about the upcoming port ofLuigi’s Mansionfor Nintendo 3DS during today’s Nintendo Direct. The spooky ghost-bustin’ title will feature a new two-player co-op mode! Player one steps into the shoes of the taller Mario brother, whilst player two controls a spooky green outline (but not the spirit that left Luigi when he was MURDERED during the previous Nintendo Direct). Players who each own a copy of the game an play through the entirety of the adventure together....

Stay away from carnival games, kids! Reveling in the misfortune of others isn’t something I try to frequently do, but the larger-than-life story about a New Hampshire man whoburned through his life savingsat a carnival in an attempt to win a Kinect was simply too much to handle. Crazy Just last month we reported on the dire situation of picking up a Nintendo Switch in Japan, and it hasn’t gotten any better. If anything, the lines have gotten longer and the raffles have gotten more fierce. According to multiple sourcesover in Japan, Switch lines are now referred to as “地獄,” which roughly translates to “hell.” While stores struggle to meet demand with 200-300 units (a number that would be a boon in the west), several thousand people are lining up for a chance to get one, leaving said stores to implement a raffle system....

They’re not every other week like Sony, and when they do arrive, they herald myriad enhancements, not just “stability.” For their spring Xbox One update that’s rolling out to Insiders this week, you’ll now have the option to swap to 1440p video, share a controller over Mixer (their streaming platform that still needs traction but is actually nice to use), a better Edge browser, a balance option for your own tunes versus game audio, more Club filter options, smarter feed sorting options, and open tournaments through Game Hubs....

Even more paths to travel The mobileOctopathgame is finding its way over to new regions.Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continentwill be coming to North America and Europe sometime this year. Announced earlier today and shared on Twitter,Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continentis a mobile prequel to the 2018 RPGOctopath Traveler. It maintains the look and feel ofOctopath, but obviously takes place on a phone rather than Steam or Nintendo Switch....

$45 per unit estimation While Nintendo was enjoying a surge in popularity with the Switch compared to their last console, they were eating a hefty amount of cost shipping it out to get it into the hands of its end users. According to the Wall Street Journal, Nintendo used aircraft to directly distribute many Switch units from China, which were shipped to the US and Europe in March. Since then they’ve moved back to the more common freight system (starting in April), but according to researchers Nintendo ate a cost of roughly $45 per unit to meet demand with the plane shipments....

The remix heard above by Cartoon Food was secretly added to the album a little over a week ago. It was supposed to be on there from the start, but I flubbed. That means that if you downloaded the album within the past week or so then that song wont be new to you, but the new track by Jim Sterling and Raik Hohendorf will be new toeveryone....

I’ve gotten so wrapped up in all of the gang focused media forSleeping Dogsthat I totally forgot you’re really an undercover cop! I think it’s an easy fact to forget since these open world games usually see you playing as the bad guys. So, like many of the features ofSleeping Dogs, it’s a nice change of pace from the norm. In this latest look, protagonist Wei Shen is on an undercover mission to find a serial killer targeting and harvesting organs from Triad members....

Also a new map is out today It’s hard to believe thatOverwatchis now nearly two years old at this point. It simultaneously feels like it’s been around forever and just launched, but once I start thinking about how we’ve gone through repeated seasonal events, it all sort of just comes together. Another telltale sign is that the game is currently in its 10th ranked season, which just kicked off this week....

It’s not over ’til it’s over Platinum Games may have completed the quartet of announcements that make up the “Platinum 4,” but it seems the developer isn’t done just yet, and is now teasing a fifth reveal – or “Bonus Stage” – to be announced at some point in the future. The Platinum 4 website has been updated, with the appearance of a new star and a flickering “Bonus Stage” message....
