One Chance: consequences in gaming

As we see games evolve, we find that our experiences within them become more realistic. And yet, there are basic tenets of gaming that still are determined to defy reality: monsters that drop money, treasure chests in the middle of nowhere, and last but not least, that ongoing fantasy world of being able to back up to your last save point and try again, no matter how poorly you planned your course of action....

PC version of GTA V listed on European Amazon sites

Rockstar has not officially confirmed PC release While it hasn’t been confirmed by Rockstar, the PC version ofGrand Theft Auto Vhas appeared on online retailer Amazon’s sites in the UK, France, and Germany. There’s still no official word on a PC release forGTA V, despite ahigh-profile online petitionasking the company to consider one. As someone who uses Amazon.co.uk a fair bit, I know to take these type of listings with a grain of salt; previous listings have turned out to be put up by mistake and right now there’s a PC version of Ubisoft’s upcomingWatch Dogson Amazon....

Photo realistic cat heads in Wii U’s The Devil’s Third

Itagaki’s insane multiplayer Wii U game It’s weird clicking a mature content warning on a video on Nintendo’s YouTube with Mario staring innocently at me. But thecollaboration between Itagaki and NintendoforThe Devil’s Third, revived as a Wii U exclusive, is weird, too. I’m in love with the crazy level of character customization shown off in this lengthy demo, though. And that insane cat head. Or the flying string of rainbow chickens....

Despite being a PC gamer for years now, I’ve never really been able to try out Razer products for more than a few minutes at events. So when the chance to have a play with the Kraken Mobile headset came up, I leapt at the opportunity....

Sony patents an ultrasonic controller shaped like a boomerang

In June, Sony patented something truly special. The patent is for a new controller that will utilize “hybrid video capture and ultrasonic tracking, but will still have some of that old silly stuff like buttons and analog sticks. It also breaks apart and can be used as a smashing weapon, or more likely, a Wii remote. Yet, unlike a Wii remote, this thing looks to be more of a three-dimensional sensing apparatus....
