New PS3 update makes trophy syncing a PS Plus exclusive

PS3 firmware update 3.70is now available, and while I’d usually makemany sarcastic referencesto the frequency of updates and the shittiness of the PS3’s download capabilities, I’ve instead got something better to do — bitch about the fact that Sony is expecting people topayin order to have their console finished. This is the modern videogame industry, folks — where gamers need to pay a subscription fee to get a console’s features working properly....

Billed as a soundtrack “featuring the themes fromOverwatchmaps and missions,” it’ll be available to both purchase and stream. Given that the score is one of the best parts of the game, I wholeheartedly approve. Another facet of the promotion involves something “tangible” in-game as well: the Sigma Maestro Challenge, which kicks off tomorrow....

Your job is to capture as many Pokemon characters as you’re able to on film, sometimes in different poses or situations. This mockup shows us a full stage (Beach Course 1-1), from the start to the final assessment from Professor Oak, where you get scored on your photos and choose which one to use to put your best foot forward....
