Arcade-inspired roguelike TumbleSeed plays as well as it looks

A modern-day twist on Ice Cold Beer TumbleSeedis an audio-visual treat. I knew that muchbefore giving it a spin. What I didn’t expect was how much strategy comes into play in this arcade-inspired permadeath romp about a fragile seed on a journey up a mountain. Fast reflexes can get you pretty far on your climb, but after many failed attempts, I’ve learned that having a plan of attack is equally important....

Are you going to replay God of War on PS5? With 60fps support and New Game+, I definitely will

The clock is ticking with Ragnarok looming Aside from playing actual PlayStation 5 games, one of the first things I want to do with the console is revisit old PS4 favorites – especially games with uncapped frame rates that stand to benefit the most. One such release is 2018’sGod of War, which will be even better on a PS5. As Sony Santa Monicatweeted this morning,God of Warwill run at 60 frames per second (with the Favor Performance option selected), your PS4 save file will transfer (this is a backward-compatible game, after all!...

Check out 64 Bits’ awesome Cuphead-style Dark Souls animation

Good day for a hell battle Cupheadtook seemingly forever to come to fruition, but boy, it was worth the wait. A huge part of the game’s appeal, and its lengthy development, was its meticulous art style. The beautiful hand-drawn animation, based around the work of vintage cartoonists such as Max Fleischer, afforded the game a distinct look and an array of memorable characters. Redesigning other video games inCuphead’skooky style is a fun concept, and lends itself well to fan-art and videos....

Chicken Police: Into the Hive brings the partners back for another finger-lickin’ mystery

Well, pluck me running The Wild Gentlemen and Joystick Ventureshave announcedthat the Chicken Police are returning inChicken Police: Into the Hive. It’s currently set for release sometime in 2024. I didn’t playChicken Police: Paint it REDwhen it was released in 2020, but did pick it up the following year. It was fantastic. I may have missed its review window, but I still ended up praising it high-and-low ina later article. While the first game stuck to its noir trappings, it was a strangely optimistic story that left me with good feels, even while its narrative was decidedly dark....

Coping with The Last of Us on PC has been an adventure

My logic was this would be a refreshing take, especially with the impending decade anniversary of the original game’s release....
