This will be done over long periods of time and in sections, of course. Apparently they can’t even start on the United States until drone regulations are hammered out next year, so the first bit of game, “Brick 1” will not take place in the US....

Hot on the heels of its announcement of its next handheld the 3DS, Nintendo released the Nintendo DSi XL in North America. On store shelves now for $189.99, it’s basically exactly what it sounds like —a DSi, but bigger. I’ve had a chance to play with a DSi XL for about a week, putting it through its paces to see if bigger is indeed better. Pre-order justified? The Wii version ofRodea: The Sky Soldier, shown above, will be the only version to feature multiplayer. Up to four players can race to the end of five levels. The Wii U and 3DS versions of the game are lacking multiplayer entirely, and the Wii version will only be included withfirst-print copies of the Wii U versionof the game. In other news the Wii version plays entirely with the Wii remote by pointing at the screen, while the Wii U and 3DS versions use more of a traditional control scheme....

VFX in the Infiltrator demo It’s crazy to see just how much work went into theUnreal Engine 4 Infiltrator demothat we saw at GDC earlier this year. Epic’s new series of videos gives us a look under the hood of UE4, with this newest video focusing on the visual effects pipeline. I may not have a full understanding of particle simulation or collision or anything like that, but I can still appreciate seeing what went into making this stuff look so good....
