Someone pointed out that the US Sonic 2 poster makes Tails angry and I can’t help but laugh

“Extreme” US posters are so great So I missed theSonic 2angry Tails movie poster, and I especially missed that the Japanese version had a more lighthearted happier one. While these types of changes are fairly common, it doesn’t make it any less funny.Over on Twitter, user whisperwolfbrought it to my attention, spotting the differences that I’m sure a lot of folks had already seen. Then the comparisons started coming in, calling it a “Kirby moment,” a classic example of a character that gets more lighthearted or serious depending on the region:...

Terry (or as some people call him, ‘Ken with a hat’) is still on track for a November Smash Ultimate debut

Are you okay with Terry? I couldn’t be more excited forTerry Bogard’s impendingSmashdebut. AlthoughStreet Fighterwas where I really learned to be a fighting game player,Fatal Furywas the first fighter I ever played; and since then I’ve enjoyed following Terry’s journeys through theFatal Furyanime, and numerous other franchises likeCapcom vs. SNKandKing of Fighters. “Ken with a hat” (as someSmashfans are calling him) indeed. But regardless of how you feel about Terry, it was really easy for his release date (window, really) to get lost in the shuffle of a relatively explosive Nintendo Direct, especially since Nintendo was getting ready to launchZelda: Link’s Awakeningon Switch....

The first part of Dreamfall Chapters arrives on October 21

This is the first of five upcoming chapters We’ve known for a while that the upcomingDreamfallgame from Red Thread would be split into five chapters but now we have word that the first one, entitledReborn, will arrive on October 21. I’m hoping that the studio will keep them coming at a steady rate. There’s no denying the game looks gorgeous; split between the hard sci-fi of Stark and the magical realm of Arcadia, there’s plenty of good-looking locations on show here in this trailer....

We’ll see more of Gran Turismo Sport before E3

I’m so curious to try this in VR It has been about six months since that initialGran Turismo Sporttrailer out of Paris Games Week, and we haven’t heard a whole heck of a lot about the PlayStation VR-compatibile sim racer since. We’re fast approaching E3 (here comes that familiar combination of excitement and dread!), but we won’t need to wait until mid-June to get another update on the game. How’s next week sound?...

Witcher 2’s REDKit might make a modder out of me

Get some RED on you The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kingshas been out for a while now, but it isn’t a dead document. Earlier this year we sawThe Witcher 2: Enhanced Editionreleased for Xbox 360. This version also included all of the free DLC released up to that point on disc as a means of circumventing Microsoft’s distaste for serving up free content through Xbox Live. Those enhancements the team made in the little under a year it spent to put the game on the 360 were also made available to owners of the original PC release through an enormous free patch....

Wow, this WoW mod triggers an Owen Wilson ‘wow’ while looting items

So hot right now Owen Wilson has been gracing the screen since 1996 with his signature catch phrase “wow” (or, as it’s come to be known, “woooooow”) that kicked off in his very first film, Bottle Rocket, and now aWorld of Warcraftmodder is keeping that legacy alive with an add-on (mod) for the game. The gist? When you loot something in-game, it plays an audio clip of Owen Wilson going “wow....

WWE 2K19 has been counted out on Switch

Ring out 2K Games has confirmed thatWWE 2K19will not be launching on Switch this year. While that is unfortunate for wrestling fans, last year’sWWE 2K18was an absolute disaster on Nintendo’s platform. The industry hasn’t seen a port that bad since the 16-bit days, but somehow 2K managed to develop, certify and release the game for full price alongside the current-gen versions. As Scott Steiner so elegantlyput it one evening, “You know, they say all console ports are created equal, but you look at2K18on PS4 and Xbox One, then you look at it on Switch and you see that statement is not true....

You can enjoy the original Celeste in the new game

Nostalgia for the win! Not many people realize this, butCelestehas quite the history behind it. Starting as a small project during a game jam, creator Matt Thorson later expanded the game into the release we nowknow and love. Obviously there are references strewn about the experience to remind us of the original prototype, but you’re able to also play that original version in all of its indie glory from within the new game....
