Growing your skills is nothing new to anyone who playsThe Sims 4, or anySimstitle for that matter. Every time you practise doing something, be it cooking or playing an instrument, you will gain experience in that skill, and get better at doing it.
With the addition of theBusinesses and Hobbiesexpansion pack forThe Sims 4, a new feature called Skill Mastery Perks has been added, allowing Sims to earn bonus perks just for becoming a master of their craft or chosen skill.

How to get Skill Mastery Perks in The Sims 4
These perks are hidden in-game until you unlock them, with elders being more likely to obtain them. All it takes is determination and practice. If you want to earn a perk, you’ll need to use your skills at a high level often, giving you the maximum chances of unlocking the Mastery Skill Perks.
Alternatively, if you want to take a more direct approach, elder Sims with a Mastery Skill Perk can bestow their Mastery upon other Sims. Of course, this does mean you’ll need to earn the Mastery in the first place, or does it?

As you complete Sim’s Whims and work towards their Aspirations, you’ll also begin to earn Satisfaction Points. These can then be used to purchase Mastery Perk Bestower and Remover Potions from the Reward Store for 8,000 Satisfaction Points each.
An individual Sim can only have up to four Skill Mastery Perks at one time, so if you want to switch out any of your Skill Mastery Perks, you’ll need to purchase a Mastery Perk Remover Potion from the Rewards Store before acquiring any new ones.
