Craftmine is the latest April Fool’s joke from theMinecraftteam. It lets players create custom Mines they need to escape from to build up a chain, unlocking more things in the process.
The process toaccessing the game is fairly easy. Using theMinecraftlauncher on PC, players can access the Java version of the game and switch installations to the latest snapshot (called Craftmine) and then wait to install it and play. But what about Bedrock players who only have the bedrock, or even console port, ofMinecraft?
Is Craftmine on Bedrock Minecraft?
No, Craftmine cannot be played onMinecraft Bedrockand isexclusive to the Java versionof the game. If you own the Bedrock version ofMinecraftor any of the console ports, you won’t be able to play Craftmine at all.
The main reason Craftmine isn’t available on the Bedrock version is simple: it’s not an official mode. Because it is not part of the official game and is only available through snapshots, which are mainly used to showcase beta and unfinished versions of the game, it won’t go onto Bedrock as Bedrock only supports official patches, whereas the Java version supports that and other April Fools’ editions of the game, including allowing players to try out new features to beta test future updates.
It’s also a tradition of April Fools’ updates to be put on the Java version only, which is the original version of the game that has been around for nearly 15 years, so while it might not be great news for console players, this update and all future April Fools’ updates, will likely remain a PC Java version exclusive feature in future years too.
If you are a PC Game Pass User though, you can play the Java version ofMinecraftso long as you have a PC. You need to download theMinecraftlauncher on the Xbox Game Pass PC app and then load up the Java version of the game over the Bedrock version. Just make sure to install the Craftmine update in the installations tab to play it. You can also use the update in Realms which is fun, giving you the chance to play the April Fools’ update with friends.
TL;DR, sorry Bedrock players, this update won’t be coming to you likely ever, so get onto Java version on a PC if you want to experience Craftmine for yourself.
