Still ‘when it’s ready’

CD Projekt Red has released a new five-minuteCyberpunk 2077video that touches on a few different topics: The switch to first-person, the freedom of a giant open-world RPG, the stress of finally showing at E3, and the near-univeral positive reception thus far. (We were part of that positive reception, by the way.)

The end of the video should temper short-term expectations, however. CD Projekt Red mentions that “Work on [Cyberpunk 2077] is far from over. True to the promise made in 2013, it’s still coming when it’s ready.” Maybe this is reading too far into things, but it wouldn’t be the least bit surprising if that eventually means it’ll debut on the next generation of consoles.

The next opportunity to find out more comes in three months’ time. CD Projekt Red has confirmed thatCyberpunk 2077will be at E3again this year. Will we learn when it’s releasing? Who knows. But if you don’t get too overly excited about playingCyberpunk 2077in the near future, you may’t get hit with a wave of disappointment.
