It’s easy to assume the worst when you hear about multiplayer being introduced to games that are primarily thought of as single-player experiences. Speaking toEurogamer, CD Projekt RED managing director Adam Badowski said that “[Cyberpunk 2077] will be a story-based RPG experience with amazing single-player playthroughs, but we’re going to add multiplayer features.”
Badowski did not further elaborate. Perhaps I’m reading into the specific wording too much, but I’m hopeful that “multiplayer features” in a gamefull of promising ideascan pan out to be something more ambitious than the standard modes that have been done and redone for years. The fact that multiplayer is new for CD Projekt RED might mean a fresh perspective.
