New arrangements played at San Diego Comic Con
We’ve covered the Distant Worlds concert series extensivelyover the years, but after seeing last night’s stop in San Diego for Comic Con, I think it’s fair to say that this is an entirely new show with tons of new arrangements. You may want to reference our reviews of theFinal Fantasy Orchestra AlbumandDistant Worlds: The CelebrationBlu-ray releases to see where they’re drawing the new pieces from, but here’s your chance to hear them live.
Fans love anything that has to do with chocobos andFinal Fantasy VII, and thankfully there’s plenty of both to go around. The new chocobo medley includes an amazing “Pulse de Chocobo” fromFFXIII, while there’s a great battle medley featuring theFFVIIbattle theme, “Those who Fight.” My personal favorites were “Battle with the Four Fiends” fromFFIV, “Phantom Forest” fromFFVI, and “Dalmascan Eastersand” fromFFXII, although the new and revamped opera scene fromFFVI, with added narration, was highly entertaining, even with the pauses made for the nearby fireworks extravaganza (thanks, Comic Con!).
