Everyone’s favorite spoiler —the Taiwan Game Rating Committee— has dropped a new listing for a Nintendo Switch port of TiGames excellent furry adventureF.I.S.T. Forged in Shadow Torch. While not an official confirmation, the board hasdeveloped a repfor revealing titles long before their official announcements.
Released on PlayStation and PC platforms in the fall of 2021,F.I.S.T.in a steampunk metroidvania that follows a weary war hero as they attempt to mount a resistance against a violent and oppressive regime, Legion, which has brought war and ruin to the fuzzy citizens of Torch City. Armed (literally) with the clunky remnants of his old battle armor, Rayton Rabbit begins his journey into the industrial hell of Forge Tower, unaware of the ghosts of the past that await him within.
Despite its small budget and unproven IP, I will personally go to bat forF.I.S.T.as one of 2021’s best, most unsung releases. With gorgeous visuals, characterful animation, deep combat mechanics, and a solid, unrelenting challenge, TiGames and BiliBili delivered one of my favorite platform adventures in many years. Hopefully, this supposed Nintendo Switch port ofF.I.S.T.will faithfully capture the compelling action of its PlayStation and PC brethren — bringing this great game to a wider audience.
