Yesterday we told you that Konami pulled the plug on Iraq-based shooter, Atomic Games’Six Days inFallujah. Konami PR was quoted as saying “we decided not to sell it” after hearing some of thenegative pressthe game was attracting. Regardless of the “too soon” factor, itsounded like a pretty good game. Too bad Konami pussed out.

It turns out that Atomic games had no idea what was about to happen with their relationship with Konami. Here’s a statement from Atomic Games’ President Peter Tamte:

We were informed on Thursday night that Konami had decided to pull out ofSix Days in Fallujah. This caught us by surprise. Development of the game had been progressing very well and on schedule. We would very much like the opportunity to complete the game.

That’s gotta suck. On top of Atomic Games wanting to finish this game, I’m sure the involved Marines who wanted to tell their story would like them to, as well.
