Epic Games is reportedly looking to introduce a new limited-time mode toFortnitelater this season. Reliable leaker HypeX said onTwitterthat a melee-only limited-time mode is in the works. The leaker also revealed a list of melee items and weapons that might be featured in the limited-time mode.

A melee-onlyFortnitelimited-time mode would feature players dropping onto the Battle Royale Island without guns, rockets, or any other form of projectile weapons. However, one fan did raise the question about Magneto Mythic being a projectile weapon, as it can hurl metal shards towards an opponent to inflict damage, but theonly answer was speculationthat it could be removed.
It would be interesting to see how building structures play into this mode, given that fights would invariably rely on close-combat encounters. Fights in the battle royale can stretch out for quite some time with no projectile weapons in play, and we all know how quickly platforms can be built to avoid fights.
We’ll see if this leak fully pans out, but it could be quite an interesting turn of events, if and when Epic fully confirms it.
