There’s beena lot of talkabout the so-called “Xbox 720” these last few weeks — what it’ll look like, how many giggerflops it’ll hyperstream, etc. — and even though I promised myself I wouldn’t, I can’t help but get more and more excited for the next generation of consoles as every day goes by.
Like many of you, I’m particularly looking forward to seeing what the future holds for multiplayer gaming. With Nintendo finally (properly!maybe not) entering the online arena this go-around and Microsoft and Sony already having strong networks to build from, the prospects seem more positive than ever for those of us who like to game with our friends. After all, the future means bigger battlefields, gorier killzones, and more gears than your war will know what to do with. It’s safe to say that — unless you’re of the opinion that the future holds nothing but more online passes and DLC and you’ve already given up hope — there’s quite a lot to be excited about.
