GameStop this week has rolled out a new promotion, and it’s quite a big one! The retailer, famous for its less-than-generous trade-in values, is offering 50% extra credit to anybody who trades their games in between now and the middle of March. That’s quite a lot of extra game money!
The US retail chain is certainly rolling out the red carpet. My local store had a massive banner outside with the deal proudly emblazoned upon it, and the very nice chap who works there made sure we didn’t miss it. For consumers and GameStop itself, this is an incredibly sweet deal. I’m not sure publishers will see it the same way, but then, they ought to make more games worth keeping.
In any case, I don’t know what made the Grinch’s heart grow three times, but I like it. GameStop should pull this stunt all year round.
