The character customization (or class) ofElden Ring Nightreignis slightly different from the older system (fromElden Ring), as it’s now tied with skins that you may unlock inside the game.

You and your friends will no longer have to focus entirely on armor, as every “Nightfarer” class has its defensive stats. That doesn’t mean your characters will have to bear with the same designs throughout your in-game journey. Once you have unlocked skins, you can equip them with a character of your liking.

Since the first step is to unlock the skins, we will begin from there.

How to unlock character skins in Elden Ring Nightreign

It’s going to take a bit of time to get the ability to unlock and use new skins, as you’ll have to defeat at least two Nightlords. The first one will be Gladius for all, as it’s the only Nightlord to beat in the beginning. All other Nightlords will be locked at first, barring Gladius, so your target is clear.

Once you’ve defeated Gladius, all the six other Nightlords will be available for hunt. you may hunt any of the six, and your choice doesn’t matter. As long as you take down another Nightlord along with Gladius, you’ll get the option to unlock and change the appearances of your characters. At this point, a message will pop up telling you a dresser has been fitted to your storage room.

At first, you’ll have only two available options that you can purchase in exchange for Murk. You’ll get a total of 16 different options (two each for every class), but the options will increase as you complete in-game achievements and beat more bosses. Defeating the final boss reportedly gives you a couple ofDark Souls-inspired skins, but I am quite some way off (politely speaking) from reaching there.

Once you have an extra skin available for a character, you can then use it from the Garb menu inElden Ring Nightreign.

The Garb Menu can be accessed by pressing the pause button to open the Roundtable Hold Menu. From there, you can check out all the skins that are in your inventory. The menu also acts as a shop for more skins that you might be interested in buying.

Unlocking skins does require a lot of Murk, especially the Darkness variant. You also have to do it individually forevery character, so prioritize the class you’re using.
