With a whole new map area to explore in the shape of Firework Isles, the number of things to do in Infinity Nikki has just increased exponentially. One new mechanic (that isn’t really new at all) is Whim Balloons.

Whim Balloons are the Firework Isles equivalent ofWhimstars. Unlike Whimstars, they do not help you progress through the Heart of Infinity, but that doesn’t mean they’re any less useful. It’s still worth collecting these pretty, glowing balloons, as they are your ticket to unlocking a variety of stunning fireworks.

The Carnival of Fireworks also features a time-limited event called “Drifting Whim,” which requires you to collect Whim Balloons to earn rewards.

The image above shows the location of every Whim Balloon on Firework Isles. There are 56 to gather up in total.

While they differ slightly from Whimstars, Whim Balloons still adopt all the familiar mechanics associated with the glowing stars. Some of them are easy to pick up, while others will need to be chased, and some require you to enter through a portal and solve a complex puzzle.

How to use Whim Balloons in Infinity Nikki

Once you’ve started collecting Whim Balloons, and as long as you’ve progressed through the Firework Isles story quests to the point at which you get the Fiery Glow ability outfit, you’re able to visit Vita at her stall. She offers a range of items in exchange for Whim Balloons andDews of Firework.

When it comes to your Whim Balloons, she’s more than happy to take them off your hands in exchange for a variety of firework sketches, which you can then create at the Firework Crafting Table and subsequently fire into the sky at stands around Firework Isles.

Drifting Whim rewards in Infinity Nikki

As well as using your Whim Balloons to purchase fireworks from Vita, you’ll unlock rewards just for collecting them as part of the Drifting Whim event. This is time-limited, ending on February 25, so it’s a good idea to gather up all of the required Whim Balloons within this time so you don’t miss out on resources and exclusive rewards.
