Know your limits
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2andWarzone 2.0require peak smoothness and performance for players to perform their best online against others. To this point, being able to see your current frames-per-second (FPS) displayed as a constant overlay duringWarzone 2.0andMW2matches can be unbelievably helpful.
How to show your FPS inWarzone 2.0andMW2
It is possible to show an FPS overlay in bothWarzone 2.0andMW2that will reveal your constant frames-per-second. This is useful for letting you know if your rig is capable of running the games with rock solid performance no matter what’s happening onscreen.
To do show an FPS overlay on PC, there are two main ways to do this. The first is a simple one for players who ownWarzone 2.0orMW2on Steam. This same method works on all other Steam games, too, which is a nice bonus.

Here are the steps to activate the FPS overlay during matches via Steam:
This will let you see your FPS in all Steam games. But maybe you don’t have these games on Steam or don’t want to see your FPS in every Steam game. There is an option to enable an FPS counter within the games themselves, too, in that case.

While theCoDgames are open, do the following steps:
From this point forward, you’ll see your current frames-per-second in the corner in every match you do until you turn it back off. This makes it easy to know if your computer is performing well enough or if you need to change some of your other settings.
Can you see your FPS on console?
Now, all of those steps were only relevant to the PC version of bothWarzone 2.0andMW2. Unfortunately, if you’re on console, there is currently no way to display your active FPS. PlayStation and Xbox users don’t have these setting options in their games.
While this is unfortunate, the console versions are generally designed to stick to a steady frame rate. The older-gen consoles of PS4 and Xbox One can usually hit a solid rate of 60 FPS, which is more than enough for satisfactory online gameplay.

On the other hand, the current-gen consoles of PS5 and Xbox Series X/S should be able to stick to around 120 FPS constantly. However, I have experienced some dips at times on PS5, so this isn’t always guaranteed.
If you experience some frame rate issues on your console, I suggest turning off On Demand Texture Streaming in the settings. The game will look slightly less detailed but your FPS can improve with this unnecessary option off.
