Yes,Final Fantasy XIVis still a game. Today, Square Enix announced “Final Fantasy XIV2.0″ alongside the news that the game is releasing for PlayStation 3 at some point between October and December of next year. This update better be amazing or else I don’t think the game can stay relevant for another year.
FFXIVhas had one of the most lackluster launches in MMO history and even Square Enix has said the game hasdamaged theFinal Fantasyname.In that same post, they said they’ll “continue with our reform work, which basically amounts to fully redoing the game, and hope to revive theFFXIVthat should have been released.” Well, after looking at these upcoming patch notes, I’d say they might be doing just that.
