Remember us Everyone plays video games for different reasons. For some, it’s stress relief. For others, it’s community. I can’t pin my own tastes down, but I do know that if a game made me cry, I probably liked it a lot. To me, video games have unique opportunities to tug at the heart strings. It is wonderful to learn about a world and its characters for 20, 50, or even 100 hours....
Can I get an A/B of that headline? Comedy is hard at the best of times, in a video game, it can be damn near impossible (looking at youMatt Hazard). The magical elixir of expectation, subversion, and timing that makes a joke funny is hard to nail down when working against the random behavior of a jerkass player who may not even be looking in the direction of the punchline. Its one of the reasons Valve’sPortalseries stands out as such a success, those games manage to be consistently hilarious while so many imitators try and fail to make gamers even crack a smile....
Hasn’t been sold for months If you playDestiny, you know the Gjallarhorn. It’s a rocket launcher that fires a very powerful shot, and then extremely powerful (tracking) cluster bombs after it hits, doing solar damage the entire time. You know it because thousands of groups require it for raids, where every member of the squad fires it at bosses for instant gibbing. Quietly weeps I kind of got unboxing videos back in the day. Honestly, I did. Back in the early days of YouTube and the Internet, we weren’t bombarded by every detail about everything before that thing got into our hands, and so when someone got it into their hands it was cool to see that something taken out of the box for the first time.
