Are you buying the new Xbox One?

Podtoid 365, one for every day of the year This is Podtoid 365, which means if you had the entire back catalog, you could listen to one episode every day for an entire year. We didn’t do anything special for that, but that won’t stop me from pointing out the next arbitrary milestone we hit. Probably at 369 [Damn she fine-Ed.], because it will make me humSchoolhouse Rock!to myself. Microsoft just released the specs (but, vitally, not the price) of its new Xbox One model, the souped up “Project Scorpio,” so we took a moment to catalog the cast’s interest in buying a new Xbox....

BioWare has plans for eventual Dragon Age sequels

The Dragon Age is pretty damn long Depending on who you ask,Dragon Ageis either one of the best RPG franchises to come out of BioWare in a long time or a lot of failed potential from a once great company. While I never personally cared for the series, I do admire how the PC version of the first game can be played exclusively likeIcewind DaleorBaldur’s Gatefrom an overhead viewpoint, which is really old-school....

Fans are incredibly unhappy about Ubisoft revoking licenses and game files for The Crew following server shutdown

Nine years after it was released,The Crew‘s servers have been shut down. Now, Ubisoft is rubbing salt in the wound by pulling licenses and digital copies from stores to make it even more unplayable. Fans and many people who purchasedThe Crewon digital storefronts are kicking up a bit of a fuss over Ubisoft revoking licenses for the game. Its servers were turned off last month on July 13, 2025, but revoking licenses and pulling the game from storefronts so it can’t even be downloaded feels like overkill....

Finally! Peggle 2 is coming to PlayStation 4

Peggle me this, Batman PopCap Games has announced thatPeggle 2is coming to the PlayStation 4 on October 14. The game will includePeggleMasters from the original game as well as theXbox One versionthat launched May 7. Just as in the original,Peggle 2combines elements of pinball, pachinko, and billiards combined with whimsical (did I really just use that word?) backdrops and characters. This game is sure to be a nice little diversion and any addition to the PlayStation 4 library is great as we wait for the likes ofMetal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, which is what I’m personally looking forward to....

Forza Horizon launch trailer readies us for upcoming demo

Get a bonus car for playing “Relaxed” and “laid back” are words we’ve used to describe Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios’Forza Horizon. That’s certainly the vibe I got from this launch trailer, which shows some of the nice vistas you’ll be able to look at while racing throughout an open-world slice of Colorado. Ahead of the October 23 launch itself, fans can check out a demo ofHorizonstarting October 9. Xbox Live Silver members will have to wait a week, though I’d recommend sticking around: by playing the demo and then purchasing the full game, you’ll receive a free, custom2013 SRT Viper GTS....

Friday Night Fights: I’m so excited for Rise of the Triad

Play games with the Dtoid community! Welcome to another edition of Dtoid’s Friday Night Fights! We’re onlythree weeks awayfrom the rebirth ofRise of the Triad, and I can’t begin to express how giddy I’m getting. I only ever played the shareware release of theoriginalROTTwhen it came out back in 1994, but I remember being blown away at the time by the freedom of movement (especially compared to its most popular contemporaries,Wolfenstein 3DandDOOM), more lighthearted tone, inventive weapons and power-ups (including a God Mode that actually made you God), and the level of interaction with the environment....

Germany cuts back on its prohibitive stance for video games with Nazi imagery

USK to change ratings ‘effective immediately’ Germany is relaxing its stance on video games with Nazi imagery. In a new regulatory change from the Entertainment Software Self-Regulation Body (USK), any game that tackles “unconstitutional organizations” can be assessed by the classification board on a per case basis. Previously, titles that dealt with Nazism would either be outright banned or heavily censored to see release (such asWolfenstein IIbeing altered beyond recognition). While the regulations weren’t strictly made to tackle Nazi iconography, they usually resulted in games with Nazis or stories focused on World War II being denied release in Germany....
