I went the cheapskate route, but given what a delightful time I’m having with it, I might just circle back and leave something in the tip jar....

This new video promoting the indie platformerDustforcewas released late last week. The short clip shows a stage focused on combat and you’ll observe how the main character can swing a broom with reckless abandon. It’s a fairly pretty looking game, but I’m not seeing anything here which feels particularly special. Once I’ve had my hands on it and can get a general sense of the way the character moves, that’s when I can generally start to get excited one way or another....

Retro fans will be pleased to know that Xbox Live Indie hitEscape Goatis heading to PC. Created basically by the one man show Ian Stocker,Escape Goatis a short, incredibly fun puzzle platformer with arockin’ soundtrack. The game is also a heartwarming tale of a Goat, a Mouse, and the friendship that transcends time and space — well, not really, but it’s still an awesome retro game with a rockin’ soundtrack....

Did they bring it? Nintendo is usually the one to close out E3’s conference run. And typically, they’re the ones that get that last chance to wow us after so many other events, year after year, fail to delight. Last nightSquare Enix brought a much-needed spark to E3 2019, but as usual, Nintendo brought out the big guns. The big first-party guns, that is, because if you hate Nintendo you probably won’t love most of the stuff they showed this year....

Ready to collect adhesive again? I put a lot of time intoFallout 4‘s settlement system, so on one hand I’m pretty excited for the home improvement focusedWasteland WorkshopDLC. I can totally get down with nixie tube lighting, new signage, and new trophies to deck out my settlements. I’m not opposed to the idea of capturing and taming live animals (and raiders, questionably enough) for my own amusement either. On the other hand though, a quiet desperate voice in the back of my head keeps asking “exactly how much adhesive and copper wire am I going to have to farm for all this bullshit?...

PSP titleGrowlanser: Wayfarer of Timewill be released next week, on July 31, on both UMD and on PSN. To get you revved up, here’s the launch trailer. I like this game a bit more each time I play it. It’s initially easy to get into with its super shiny cutscenes and art, but the story takes a bit to ramp up after the honeymoon period wears off. Now that it has ramped up, the story’s quite interesting....
