Make like Dig Dug and play music while you walk

Medometer for iPhone is a thing [Update:the app’s creator has renamed it to “Medometer64,” because “it was spelled too much like ‘pedometer,'” which made it tougher to find.] Have you ever wished that music played whenever you walked like in classic arcade games such asDig DugandDonkey Kong? Well, your wish has now been granted via an app calledMedometerfor iPhone, as seen above. I’m assuming the music shown in the video isn’t included for copyright reasons, so you’ll have to grab it from elsewhere....

Mickey springs to action in E3 Castle of Illusion trailer

It’s looking great TheCastle of Illusionremakeis coming along pretty nicely, as evidenced by the new E3 trailer above. It’s pretty much everything you’d expect from an HD-ified romp, including 2.5D platforming, vibrant visuals, and promises of extra content. Although I never liked theIllusionseries nearly as much as the SNES’Magical Questfranchise,Castle of Illusionis still a great game in its own right, and I’m looking forward to the remake. It’ll hit the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC platforms as a downloadable game later this year....

NBA Live 14 redefines dribbling with bounceTek

bounceTek? Really? I have been known to shoot some b-ball, usually outside of my school, so long as no one starts making trouble in my neighbourhood. That being said, I have played a fair bit of Basketball videogames too, and as foolish as bounceTek sounds, it will really change the way you playNBA Live 14. bounceTek gives players the most realistic movement and control of their ball than in any NBA game to date....

PlayStation game downloads to be limited to two consoles

For the past few years, gamers have been allowed to activate their accounts on up to five PlayStation consoles, allowing for the easy sharing of content. This ease was readily exploited by gamers who would use shared accounts to nab free games, and Sony’s decided to put a stop to it. Beginning November 18, accounts may only be activated on two systems as opposed to five. This new limitation affects both the PS3 and PSP, as it will the PlayStation Vita when that machine launches....

Preview: Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2011

I am not usually a fan of hunting games. Of course, shooting things is usually a fun activity, but not so much when the things you are shooting don’t put up a fight. I’m always up for new twists on worn-out tropes though, so I was excited when I found out thatCabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2011was promising to take the hunting game genre in a new direction by adding in horror survival elements....

Rise of Mana hosts Final Fantasy Tactics’ Ramza, Agrias, and Orlandu

I’m okay with this Ah,Rise of Mana— the project that sounds really cool, until you realize that it’s a free-to-play mobile game from Square Enix. While the game isno stranger to crossovers, the newest one is pretty damn awesome. The game will host Ramza, Agrias, and Orlandeau (Thunder God Cid) fromFinal Fantasy Tacticsas boss characters. What the what now? The originalTacticswas a large part of my childhood (Velius!), so I’m just happy to see that Square Enix remembers it....
