PlayStation Network release happening in March Gaijin Games has put out some proper release dates for the various versions ofBit.Trip Presents Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien. Up first are Wii U and Steam (Windows, Mac, and Linux), with those launches happening today, followed by Xbox Live Arcade on February 27. Unfortunately,Runner2won’t make it to PlayStation Network until March 5 at the earliest, and PS Vita and iOS in the summer....

Sony recently claimed that it had better relations with developers than Microsoft, claiming that studios are having the “crap kicked out of them” by its rival’s horrible policies. However, an anonymous squealer who worked at Vivendi calls Sony’s claims “laughable,” stating it’s no better than Microsoft in how it treats people. “I’d say any comment by Sony that they have better developer relations or fewer insane hurdles is laughable,” he said....

20th Anniversary rages on I have to say, Nintendo is doing a bang-up job of celebratingPokémon‘s 20th anniversary. Hell, there’s already been a ton of fanfare (the Mew event, tons of merchandise worldwide, amiibo restocks, aSplatoonSplatfest, a new ‘mon reveal, a free stream of the first film, new Nendoroids,Pokken Tournamenton Wii U later this year,Detective Pikachu,Pokemon Go, and a special retail celebration next weekend) and it’s just February! If only Nintendo did the same for say,Metroid....

Your mileage may vary on ‘classics’ Publisher Taito and the retro enthusiasts over at Hamster Corporation have come together to release a new compilation for Nintendo Switch:Taito Milestones.This release will pack together a selection of hits from the formative years of Taito, an era where the studio ruled the roost in the arcades by offering up a catalog of fun and incredibly varied coin-ops. Taito Milestoneswill feature 10 games in all, though it has to be said that it’s hardly a “Very Best Of” collection here....

No Leona though… Another old-school title is out for download this week, courtesy of the fine folk at Hamster, who have re-released a genuine arcade favourite in the form ofIkari Warriors, available now on PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Originally released in arcades in 1986, before being ported to almost every home computer under the sun, SNK’sIkari Warriorsis a vertically-scrolling shoot-em-up which sees one or two players lead a duo of armed-to-the-teeth mercenaries through the non-descript jungles of Ikari....

New screenshots The Legend of Heroes: Sen no Kisekiis still in the works for Japan for the PS3 and Vita, and after looking at the great new screenshots in the newest update of theofficial website, I’ve decided to just be happy for them. I mean, as a Legend of Heroes and Falcom fan, I want the game, but it’ll probably be years before we see a localization. Japan gets it later this year, and from these shots they should be excited....

Rave from the grave For those of you who may have missed out on Telltale Games’ adventure series,The Walking Dead, Skybound Games has announced that a compendium of the entire saga will be shuffling its way onto PS4 and Xbox One next month. The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Seriesfeatures all four seasons of the dramatic adventure, along with spin-off story Michonne. The games have been given a small visual overhaul, adding the “Graphic Black” filter fromThe Final Seasonto all previous chapters....

A Link Between Worlds I wasn’t sure the cutesyNendoroid Linkcould be topped, but this Figma based onThe Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worldsis utterly wonderful. The classic look is my favorite to this day. When the toy becomes available this summer in Japan, it’ll be offered in two versions. The basic package costs 4,630 yen and includes some accessories, but not all of them.
