No balls of steel required
Outside the dedicated and nebulously legal emulation scene, PC hasn’t received much virtual pinball love lately despite being its birthplace. Zen Studios is changing this by bringingPinball FX 2to Steam on May 10. The title previously arrived on the Windows Store in October, but it should hit a larger PC audience on Steam which is admittedly devoid of quality pinball titles.
For those new toPinball FX 2, it’s a free-to-download platform that offers a number of table packs based onStar WarsandMarvel, along with some original creations. The six packs available at launch will go for $9.99 each. Turns out pinball is still expensive.

This is perfect timing for someone who has recently become obsessed with pinball via my Nexus 7 tablet. Here’s hopingPinball Arcadefollows suit in time, as I love the sound and look of the original tables. Beggers can’t be choosers though, so I’ll savor playingPinball FX 2in HD with a controller and Steam achievements.
