With nearly two weeks until PopCap’s latest creation,Plants vs. Zombies, is thrust upon the gaming world, I am becoming seriously anxious. Having spent entiresummersplaying custom tower defense games inWarcraft III, the things are sort of my jam, in case you couldn’t tell.
Steam sent out word earlier today about a special offer: if youpre-purchase the gamefor $9.99, you’ll get another $9.99 title,Heavy Weapon Deluxe, for free. Not a bad promo, but I think the real news here is thatPlants vs. Zombiesis being priced so low; I honestly didn’t see it coming.
Ever sincePegglewon so many self-proclaimed hardcore gamers over, I think our perception of PopCap has changed significantly. With signs pointing towardPlants vs. Zombiesbeing a damned fine game, are any of you finding yourself saying “casual games suck” less and “holy f*ck, this is so much fun” more and more?
