Nintendo is currently offering a free NintendoSwitchOnline trial, but the catch is that it’s going away very soon on January 30 at 11:59PM PT. Well, there’s actually a few other catches. We’ll explain them!

So the most obvious proviso: you can’t already have an active membership, family or otherwise. And because it’s a Nintendo promo, you aren’t getting premium, since the “Expansion Pack” isn’t included in the demo. But if you need to do some date finagling, you can redeem the “0 points” offer and get the code now, then actually trigger it before July 26, 2025 at 23:00 PST on any account.
In other words, if you have a friend who might want to jump online and play something with you and you have My Nintendo access, you may as well get the code and give it away.
