Internal decision

For a month now, fans have been speculating in regards to why Capcom would remove R. Mika’s Critical Art butt slap animation fromStreet Fighter V, after already debuting footage for it.

Now,by way of UOL Jogos, we know Capcom’s side. Evidently producer Yoshinori Ono noted that they didn’t make the change due to “external influences” or pressure. Instead, it was an internal decision because they wanted “the biggest possible number of people to play,” and that they don’t want something in the game that would be “uncomfortable.”

It’s such a weird thing to me, because R. Mika’s butt is still very visible, she just doesn’t lightly tap it a few times per match. Would Square Enix removeRikku’s butt slap tauntfromFinal Fantasy Xif it were made today? I think most of the people that feel so uncomfortable that they would stop playing wouldn’t play in the first place.
