[Dtoid community blogger Genki-JAM recently shared his video response to the first episode of Anita Sarkeesian’s “Tropes vs. Women in Video Games” series. Shareyourresponse in the comments below! –Mr Andy Dixon]

I’ve had my fair share of issues with Anita Sarkeesian’s work leading up to the release of herTropes vs. Women in Video Gamesseries, and as much as I really didn’t want to watch her “Damsels in Distress” video, I knew I needed to. I needed to see if she had actually constructed a solid argument and presented both viewpoints on the matter; and so I watched it.

As I sat through the video, listening intently, all I heard was a lot of misinformation and a skewed viewpoint that didn’t acknowledge other facets at play. The picture Anita was painting of the game industry was one of malice towards women. The whole thing upset me so much that I felt an intense desire to rebut at least some of the points she brought up.

So, similar to myDmCanalysisvideos, I decided to do a video explaining how I think the problem isn’t sexism in the game industry, but laziness. Check it out, won’t you?
