The Last Remnant‘s PS3 portseems to beon shaky ground this morning, as Square Enix has apparently declined to list it among its upcoming games. The RPG was released on Xbox 360 a little over a year ago and was followed by a PC version, but the PS3 version is nowhere to be seen.
The rumor has come by way of Square Enix’s own release schedule. The publisher regularly prints a magazine with a list of all its upcoming games, andThe Last Remnantfor PS3 is strangely absent. It’s worth noting that the game still appears on Square Enix’sofficial site, but the very latest release list seems to have it omitted.
It would not surprise me if this game had indeed been canned. The 360 version received a very mixed reception upon release, and with two majorFinal Fantasygames to work on, not to mention the thousand other projects Squenix always has on the go,The Last Remnantwould be an easy cut to make.
It doesn’t sound like PS3 fans would be missing much, really.
