Hiroyuki Miyazaki and Yosuke Okunari will be appearing
A Sega surprise stream has been announced with an “urgent notice” this morning fromthe company’s Japanese Twitter account, and there’s a few hints as to what it could deal with.
Debuting on June 3 at 20:00 JST (7AM ET), the live broadcast will feature Hiroyuki Miyazaki and Yosuke Okunari. Respectively, they have worked on many franchises at Sega in the past, includingPuyo Puyo/Phantasy Star Online 2/Sonic/NiGHTs, andJet Set Radio/3DS Sega Classics/Panzer Dragoon. Now I wouldn’t expect any of those franchises to make a glorious comeback on a random June 3 stream, but those are their credentials nonetheless.
We also have a small potential hint with the Twitter teaser image, which involves a Sega Mega Drive/Genesis controller in the shape of a dessert, with frosting as the d-pad and buttons. When the Sega surprise stream debuts, you may watch it below.
Is itthe “Super Game” project?I hope not! In all likelihood it’ll be some sort of re-release again, as Sega tends to make big deals out of. But maybe, just maybe, we could get some semblance of E3 hype with this stream. Remember the days when studios would announce big games anytime around June?
