Sadly for fans of strange merchandising, Sega aren’t teasing a game with actual fodder for felines. Instead the video shows the songentitled“Cat Food” by Vocaloid composer “doriko”, as seen in the next installment of theHatsune Miku: Project DIVArhythm game series. While it hasn’t been stated direct which platformthisparticular trailer is for, judging by the polygon count andjob listings from back in October, it’s most likely for the PlayStation Vita. It’s due next year.

The choice of platform isn’t too much of a surprise, seeing as Sega’s shown particular affection for Sony’s platforms when it comes to Vocaloids, with threeProject DIVAgames on the PSP, two PS3-basedDreamy Theaterexpansions, andeven an appearance on the PS3 versionof Namco Bandai’s own idol game,Idolm@ster 2. Nintendo fans needn’t feel deprived, though, as the 3DS will finally get a Vocaloid game in the form ofHatsune Miku: Project Mirai, which seems to play likeProject DIVA, but rocks a super-deformed style and more casual-friendly difficulty level.
