Atlus is embracing confusing naming conventions with the upcomingShin Megami Tensei IV: Final, which Atlus has billed as not a direct sequel toSMTIV(you don’t have to have played it to playFinal) when we last wrote about it.
“Set in a dystopian Tokyo in the year 203X, the Nintendo 3DS exclusive follows the exploits of a silent protagonist who, after dying in battle, returns to the land of living after forming an alliance with Dagda, a demonic god, who together set out on a mission to kill a group of other deities.”
Despite this, theSMT IVcast (Flynn, Jonathan, Walter, Isabeau) will make an appearance inSMTIV: Final. Isabeau will even join the new protagonist’s party. Also, if you have originalSMT IVsave data, “you’ll obtain items and equipment that will be useful on your adventure inShin Megami Tensei IV: Final.” It releases in Japan on February 10.
