This is different from Shovel Knight Dig
If you count all of the expansions that essentially became standalone games, theShovel Knightfranchise is pretty beefy at this point.
You have the base game (Shovel of Hope), thenPlague of Shadows, Specter of Torment, King of Cards, and the Showdown multiplayer-centric mode. Then there’sShovel Knight DigandShovel Knight Pocket Dungeon: both of which are not actually out yet, and were announced in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
Yacht Club Games is not actively developing either of the latter games (Nitrome and Vine are respectively), but they have their hands full, and even publishedCyber Shadowrecently. Shovel Knight, as a character, doesn’t seem to feel oversaturated yet. SorryMighty No. 9.
In that vein, we might be gettingPocket Dungeonsometime soon. Despitethe official pagestating that full platforms and even a release window are “TBD,” the developer Vine just put out a call (which was signal boosted by Yacht Club Games) for developers to help “wrap up”Pocket Dungeon.
What aboutDig? A fan asked that very question on Twitter, and Yacht Club Games didn’t have much to say other than that it’s “also still in production” and “currently happens to be looking to hire.” We’re probably looking at Q2 at the earliest for either of these games, if not later.
