Slowly but certainly,Starfieldis turning into the modding powerhouse it was always meant to be. With the Creation Kit opening the door to ahuge array of advanced new creations, we’re now privy to the Ship Vendor Framework mod, allowing us to share our LEGO-like starships with one another.

Courtesy of modder Rux616, we now have a way of sharing custom-builtStarfieldships with the world. Or, at least, otherStarfieldplayers on PC and Xbox. According to Rux616, their plan all along has been to create a stable, comprehensive solution for how the in-game vendors handle ship blueprints. By default,Starfielddoes not allow you to tweak and/or replace vendor-provided ships, which makes them kind of boring on a long enough timeline. With Rux616’s Ship Vendor Framework mod, however, it is now possible to add entirely new, custom designs to the vendors’ blueprint offerings, and virtually anyone can export them quickly and easily.

Starfield: Ship Vendor Framework is the vessel-sharing system we’ve all been waiting for

Granted, it’s notquiteas straightforward as, say, sharing a code with one another. The way Ship Vendor Framework works is that it “allows people to design ships inside the [Starfield] Creation Kit and add them for sale ingame easily, then sharethose[as] mods,” explains Rux616 in aReddit comment. Still, it’s a way better system than anything available in the base game, and it’s fully compatible with both PC and Xbox builds of the game, which makes itthatmuch more useful in the long run.

Alongside the Ship Vendor Framework, Rux616 has also created their own custom ship blueprint to show the system off: the Warhawk. This is a small and lightweight, yet heavily armed B-class vessel that has a simple, straightforward interior that makes it handy as a mobile forward operating base. Nice! The Warhawk is available at the New Atlantis Ship Servicesafteryou hit level 50, and you will of course need the Ship Vendor Framework to access its blueprints.

In other related news, have youaddedDestiny‘s Exos intoStarfieldyet? Or did you lean more heavily into theStar Warsaesthetic, creating your very ownMandalorianexperiencealong the way? Whatever the case may be, there are more awesome mods coming out forStarfieldvirtually every day, andBethesda is already planning Year 2 content at this time. That’s coming after the hotly anticipatedShattered SpaceDLC, of course, which is its own point of interest.Starfield: Shattered Spaceis launching in Fall 2024, but in the interim, it’s not like we’ve got nothing to do with all those mods coming out left and right.
