Can’t say I blame ’em

Telltale Games is picking its episodic adventure seriesThe Walking Deadback up for a third season this year. We knew it was coming, but not necessarily so soon. Better hang onto that save data.

Speaking toMashable, Telltale CEO Kevin Bruner said that “From a role-playing, interactive storytelling point of view, it is not from the bag of tricks that we’ve ever shown anybody before. The way that we’re dealing with and validating and retaining all those different playthroughs is really cool and unexpected and, I think, pretty innovative from the storytelling point of view.”

According to Bruner, there will be some sort of solution for folks hoping to easily bring in their choices fromSeason 1andSeason 2, but he didn’t share specifics. The story is said to respect “all of the various end points” inS2, but also leave room for new players to “get up to speed really quickly.”

Having not playedThe Walking Dead: Michonne, I feel like I could maybe go for this third season, but conceptually, I’m far more interested in the studio’s other projects.
