Do you want news in video form? Pog form?
Today was a pretty huge day for Destructoid. One ofthe founding fathers of the website returned to the foldand swiftly kickedNBA2K15in the nuts. Wereviewed the New 3DSwith lukewarm appreciation, tempered with the customary cautioning for early adopters that’s pretty much status quo for new console releases these days. We launched a newYouTube series calledBeard Viewthat takes focus on games that you may not have had a chance to play for yourself. We stuck our necks out and hoped for the best.
It’s all very exciting stuff for an Editor-in-Chief. In fact, it’s 4 hours past my bed time right now, and yet I’m still up, still thinking about Destructoid. More specifically, I’m thinking about how excited I am aboutPokkén Tournament, and how I want to talk to everyone in the world about it.
That feeling of inspiration led me to stay up late, writing emails to Dtoid’s video honcho Bill Zoeker about how it may be time to bring news back to Destructoid’s video cache. That conversation led me to cut together this pilot episode for what future news-focused videos on our YouTube channel might look like. It’s a huge departure from the TV-style show we did with Revision3, but maybe this type of video programming is more fitting for Destructoid. It’s low tech, prone to tangents, and made with the same tools that most of our readers have access to. Those are some of the principles that Destructoid was built on. It feels right to return to them when we can.
